Have you heard of the Swiss Ethics Prize?
This year, we participated in the Swiss Ethics Prize, a beautiful award organised since 2015 by students of the HEIG-VD. We were not among the winners of this 16th edition, but we wanted to tell you about this Prize, which we find both inspiring and meaningful.
The Ethics Award is first and foremost an opportunity to discover beautiful, committed and sustainable local brands with innovative and tangible initiatives! In fact, this year the three Laureates of this edition are:
1. Choba choba company and its sustainable, organic and ethical chocolate brand based in Bern, which improves the living conditions of 35 cocoa farming families through a fully vertically integrated business model. The cocoa is grown on the company’s 100 hectares of land in the Peruvian Amazonia and the cocoa farmers are shareholders and thus co-entrepreneurs of this Swiss start-up. A beautiful model, well reflected by the brand name itself, which means “I help you, you help me” in Quechua!

31 organisations competing
This year, 31 organisations took part in the Ethics Awards. Some announced themselves spontaneously and others were contacted directly, thanks to extensive canvassing by the students, which was our case. We were approached for our organisational model, and it was this project that we presented. You can read the description of our project on the Ethics Award website and find out about all the participating organisations at the same time.
